Latest data shows that anime BD sales in 2025 have fallen another 15% compared to 2024. With streaming platforms becoming increasingly popular, how many people are still buying physical discs?
However, it's interesting that the BD sales of certain works have bucked the trend and risen—such as those from Kyoto Animation and ufotable. It seems brand effect and collectible value remain key.
