April New Anime "Rooster Fighter": A Nonsensical Anime About a Chicken Saving Humanity
Recently, I came across information about this new anime and thought the premise was quite interesting, so I wanted to share it.
"Rooster Fighter" is a manga series created by Shu Sakuratani, with the anime adaptation premiering in March 2026.
**Synopsis**
People are shocked by the sudden appearance of giant monsters known as "Beasts" in Japan. These Beasts destroy cities with overwhelming power and prey on humans.
Just then, a chicken rises up to fight back, defeating the Beasts with its speed and powerful cries. At the same time, it is searching for the specific Beast that killed its sister, so after defeating one, it moves on to the next town.
**Production Staff**
- Original Creator: Shu Sakuratani
- Director: Daisuke Suzuki
- Screenplay: Hiroshi Seko ("Attack on Titan", "Jujutsu Kaisen")
- Animation Production: Sanzigen
- Voice Cast: Kenta Miyake, Mariko Honda, Shiori Izawa
**Personal Thoughts**
This is truly a classic "nonsensical" work. Having a chicken as the protagonist is absurd enough, but the fact that it has to save humanity is even more so. However, the battle scenes in the trailer look quite intense, and with Hiroshi Seko in charge of the script, the quality should be guaranteed.
As for the art style, it uses 3D animation. The design of the chicken is unexpectedly cool (?), and the overall vibe is wild with a touch of humor.
Has anyone started watching this yet? What do you think of this "animal as protagonist" genre?
