Yuru's peaceful life in the village comes to a brutal end. Helicopters in the sky, handguns in the hands of attackers—with the modern weapons of those who broke the barrier and came from the "Lower Realm," the villagers are killed one after another without any means of defense. Meanwhile, Yuru, fleeing from pursuers, is led by the watchman Dera and, without knowing why, awakens "Sayo-sama," a pair of Tsugai who are also the guardians of Higashi Village. Through a contract, Yuru takes command of Sayo-sama as their Master, confronting the attackers and their Tsugai with a sharp gaze and a drawn bow.

Saying "I don't want to lie to my brother," Asa begins to tell her past: that she died once, killed by an assassin from the East Village—and then Yuru recalls the events of the day he was first subjected to "bloodlust" from a human.

Meanwhile, Dera visits the Kagemori mansion to pick up Yuru. After being invited to breakfast by the head of the house, Gonzo, and sharing information, Yuru is invited to join the Kagemori family but refuses immediately. He then makes a declaration to those who seek his life and attempt to exploit his power.
