The series continues the quirky, snack-filled daily life of Kokonotsu Shikada and the eccentric candy heiress Hotaru Shidare, blending lighthearted humor with a fun deep-dive into Japanese dagashi culture. With its breezy episodic format and charming cast including Saya Endou and You Shikada, this season delivers the same sweet, easygoing entertainment fans fell in love with.

Plot

Dagashi Kashi Season 2 returns to the laid-back world of a small-town Japanese candy shop known as the Shikada store. At the heart of the story is Kokonotsu Shikada, a young aspiring manga artist who finds himself torn between chasing his creative dreams and taking over his family's traditional dagashi shop. His quiet, uneventful days are turned upside down by the arrival of Hotaru Shidare, an eccentric and passionate dagashi enthusiast with an encyclopedic knowledge of every candy imaginable. Hotaru's larger-than-life personality and her endless supply of nostalgic sweets bring a whirlwind of energy into Kokonotsu's life. Rounding out the cast are childhood friend Saya Endou and her easygoing brother Tou Endou, who add their own flavor to the everyday adventures. Building on the charm of the first season, Season 2 delivers lighthearted, candy-filled vignettes at a snappier pace, celebrating the quirky and nostalgic culture of Japanese dagashi.
