LISTENERS is an original sci-fi mecha music adventure TV anime produced by MAPPA. The world has been ravaged by monstrous beings known as the Earless, leaving civilization in ruins and humanity struggling to survive among endless scrapyards and desolate wastelands. Standing against these creatures are the Players — celebrated warriors who pilot powerful mechs called Equipment, earning both glory and wealth through their battles. Echo Rec is a passionate young tinkerer who has always idolized the Players, even crafting his own crude mech from salvaged parts. Yet he has come to accept his place among the forgotten, scraping by in the wreckage of a broken world with little hope for anything more. Everything changes when he crosses paths with a mysterious amnesiac girl named μ, whose mechanical back port marks her as someone connected to the world of Players. Drawn together by circumstance, the two forge an unlikely bond and set their sights on a shared goal — to master their abilities and push back against the Earless threatening what remains of humanity.
