In a world forever scarred by catastrophe, the remnants of humanity cling to survival aboard Deca-dence — a colossal mobile fortress standing three thousand meters tall, engineered as a last bastion against the monstrous creatures known as Gadoll. These terrifying life forms appeared without warning and pushed civilization to the edge of annihilation. Within the fortress walls, society is divided into two distinct groups: the Gears, elite fighters who venture out to battle the Gadoll, and the Tankers, civilians who support life inside the fortress but lack combat ability. Among the Tankers is Natsume, a spirited young woman whose greatest ambition is to join the ranks of the Gears despite the odds stacked against her. Her path unexpectedly crosses with Kaburagi, a gruff and world-weary armor repairman who seems to have long abandoned any hope for the future. Two people from vastly different walks of life — one fueled by relentless optimism, the other hardened by resignation — find themselves bound together in ways neither could have anticipated.
