ただいま、おじゃまされます!?
Rinko Nakama, a 24-year-old office worker, is a closet otaku living alone. Every time she tries to watch anime to soothe her daily fatigue, she faces a fierce "wall slam" protest from the room on the right. Satsuki, the refreshing gentleman in the room on the left, suggests helping her by "pretending to be her boyfriend." However, the person who kicks through the wall and appears is none other than Usada, also known as "Usaharu-sensei," the creator of Rinko's favorite manga, Usaneko-bu.
偽装彼氏、はじめました!?
"The Tale of Jorn" — a fairy tale Rinko encountered in middle school that saved her soul. Her spirit of staying true to what she "likes" was deeply influenced by this work. To support Usada, who is working hard on "Usaneko Club," Rinko becomes his "meal assistant," only to be toyed with daily by the suggestive attitude of Satsuki, who volunteered to be her fake boyfriend. Usada suspects that Satsuki, who lives in "Spring Heights" — an apartment building known for producing many writers — might also be some kind of creator...
一方、その頃…!?
Pome (Honda), Hazuki, and Kogi (Kogi), three aspiring manga artists living in the "Spring Heights" apartment building—famed for producing many authors—have fallen into a slump where their storyboards (names) are not getting approved. Meanwhile, Usada, who is dying to know Satsuki's mysterious occupation, sneaks into Satsuki's room with Rinko while he is out in search of clues. After discovering one of Satsuki's secrets, Rinko reveals the beginning of her own otaku life to the two as an apology.
スランプじゃ、ねーよ!?
Mao, Usada's younger sister, suddenly appears in Rinko's room. The two quickly bond over their favorite anime, but Usada remains somber throughout. He has fallen into a slump, unable to write because he cannot understand the "unrequited love" of the characters in his own work. To encourage Usada, Rinko conveys her love for his work with all her might, but as the two grow closer, Satsuki steps in and makes a certain proposal.
この物語は、フィクションです!?
The daily lives of the three have changed slightly, triggered by Usada starting to become conscious of Rinko. Meanwhile, Rinko bursts into tears, feeling that their fun days are coming to an end, upon hearing Satsuki's words: "It’s difficult to continue pretending to be your boyfriend like this." However, Satsuki has Rinko read a scenario detailing "memories as a couple" and proposes that they behave even more like a real boyfriend and girlfriend than before. Rinko follows the heart-fluttering scenario and enjoys her first-ever date(?) in life with Satsuki, but...
たかが、キス!?
To protect the happy life the three of them share, Rinko is forced into the difficult act of continuing to be a couple in front of Usada while hiding her feelings for Satsuki. Amidst this, suspicions arise that Satsuki is having an affair, and in his absence, Usada steals Rinko's first kiss. Usada apologizes to the sobbing Rinko and takes her to a dining bar where writers gather. However, Satsuki is there, accompanied by a woman.
クリスマスは、忙しい!?
Christmas has come to town. Rinko is eager to treat Satsuki and Usada with her special homemade cake, but it seems they both have prior engagements and will be late coming home. As Rinko tries her best to enjoy a lonely Christmas by herself, painful childhood memories resurface. Just then, who should appear before her...?
真央は、間男の“ま・お”!?
Usada's younger sister, Mao, rushes into Spring Heights in tears, claiming to be "the child of a paramour." Upon learning about the Usada family's circumstances—a "fake marriage between an author and a fan of their work"—Rinko decides to play along and pretend to be Usada's girlfriend, as he had previously boasted to his family that they were dating. As they act out a dynamic opposite to their usual relationship, Usada and Akito Satsuki find themselves considering each other's feelings. The next day, when Usada's family arrives to pick up Mao, the truth about her birth is finally revealed...!
佐槻さんの、隠し事!?
Rinko learns that Satsuki is a popular horror novelist. However, Satsuki stubbornly refuses to tell her his pen name as an author. Meanwhile, by chance, Usada begins to suspect that Satsuki's true identity might be Izumi Kanisawa, the author of "The Story of Yorn," which once had a huge influence on Rinko. Perhaps Satsuki is hiding his pen name only from Rinko because "a 'god' is excluded from being a romantic interest"... And then, Usada arrives at an unexpected truth.
ポンコツ、わんこ作戦!?
Pome (Honda), a rookie manga artist who harbors secret feelings for his neighbor Rinko, is egged on by Hazuki and Kogi to put a plan into action that plays to his strengths as a "clumsy, dog-like boy." Rinko readily agrees to Pome's request for Valentine's Day chocolate as a reward if his submitted storyboard gets approved. Rinko also devises a plan to give chocolates to Satsuki and Usada. Meanwhile, Pome's storyboard is harshly criticized by his editor, but the key to a dramatic turnaround lies with Usada, who happened to be there. Will Pome's "doggy strategy" succeed or fail!?
それぞれの、崩壊!?
Mindful of Rinko's dislike of scary stories, Satsuki has been writing his work while holding back on the horror elements. Rinko, approached by Satsuki's editor-in-charge Fukami who senses a crisis, is left deeply troubled after being told that she is having a negative influence on Satsuki as a writer. Meanwhile, Satsuki, shaken by the situation, shuts himself in his study. However, provoked by Usada, who says, "If you're going to make Rinko sad, I'll take her," Satsuki shouts his feelings for Rinko in a voice that echoes throughout the neighborhood. But the footsteps of collapse were quietly creeping up on the three's happy life together...
もいちど、おじゃまされます!?
Because Fukami dissolved the relationship between the three of them, Rinko blames herself, while Usada is furious. However, Satsuki proposes using this opportunity to return their life to the way it was before the hole appeared. While living alone, Rinko looks back on the fun days the three of them spent together, and Usada suppresses his emotions and watches quietly—meanwhile, Satsuki seeks to reclaim his daily life with Rinko and the others by breaking through the wall standing before him as a writer.
