In 22nd-century Japan, society is governed by an all-encompassing framework known as the Sibyl System. This technology measures the psychological state of every citizen, quantifying their likelihood of committing a crime into a numerical value called their Psycho-Pass. Armed with weapons that respond directly to these readings, Inspectors are tasked with neutralizing any individual whose mental state edges toward criminality. Working beneath them are Enforcers—individuals whose own Psycho-Pass values have already crossed the threshold, permitted a degree of freedom in exchange for assisting on the front lines. Akane Tsunemori, a bright-eyed new Inspector driven by a genuine belief in justice, enters this world full of conviction. Partnered with the seasoned Enforcer Shinya Kougami, she begins her career trusting wholeheartedly in the system's authority—yet the reality of their day-to-day work gradually stirs within her a deeper, more unsettling question: can a system built on numbers ever truly deliver justice?
