Akudama Drive

Akudama Drive is an original sci-fi action TV anime produced by Studio Pierrot, directed by Tomohisa Taguchi with series composition by Norimitsu Kaiho, based on an original concept by Kazutaka Kodaka, the creator behind the Danganronpa series. Set in a dystopian future city under strict authoritarian rule, a group of dangerous criminals—including Satsujinki, Hakobiya, Hacker, and Kenkaya—are thrown together by fate and forced into a deadly, high-stakes mission. Set in a dystopian future where Japan has been torn apart by a devastating civil war, the country now exists as two divided territories: Kansai and Kanto. In the streets of Kansai, where authorities work tirelessly to maintain control, a band of six notorious criminals known as Akudama operate in the shadows. Among them are Hakobiya, Satsujinki, Hacker, Kenkaya, Isha, and Chinpira — each a dangerous outlaw with their own deadly specialties. United under the cryptic instructions of a mysterious Kuroneko, they take on illicit missions while staying one step ahead of the law. Everything shifts when an ordinary Ippanjin finds herself unexpectedly entangled in the Akudama's underground world. Thrust into a life she never imagined, she begins to witness firsthand the raw, chaotic reality that drives these outlaws — and nothing about her quiet existence will ever be the same again.
