Set in an alternate history version of the Meiji Era, roughly three centuries after the fateful Battle of Sekigahara, Tenka Hyakken introduces a world where legendary ancient blades have taken the form of young women known as the Mitsurugi. These maidens — among them Kuwana Gou, Joizumi Masamune, and Soboro Sukehiro — each carry within them the spirit and legacy of a storied weapon from ages past. Having witnessed the devastation of war firsthand, the Mitsurugi made a solemn vow to leave the battlefield behind and embrace a life of tranquility. But peace, it seems, is a fragile thing. A mysterious new threat begins to emerge, casting a long shadow over an era that was supposed to herald a new dawn. With their quiet lives suddenly upended, these blade-maidens must now confront a question they had hoped to never face again — whether to take up arms once more.
