Chika Shiraishi

Chika Shiraishi is Marika's biological mother, raising her daughter on her own as a single parent. Having grown up without sufficient affection in her childhood, she developed a cold and distant demeanor, found parenting deeply challenging, and for a long time failed to meet her daughter's emotional needs. At first, she viewed the Niijima family's approach with suspicion and resistance. However, as the truth came to light, she began confronting her own shortcomings as a mother—gradually learning, through painful self-reflection, how to become the parent her daughter deserved, and working to mend the emotional bond between herself and Marika.
