Houtarou Oreki

Houtarou Oreki is a Kamiyama High School student who lives by a strict philosophy of minimal effort—doing nothing unnecessary and handling what must be done as swiftly as possible. After joining the Classic Literature Club, he finds himself repeatedly drawn into solving everyday campus mysteries, largely spurred on by the insatiable curiosity of his clubmate Eru Chitanda. Despite his persistent claims of being entirely ordinary, each case he tackles reveals a startling depth of logical reasoning and natural talent.
