Hyouka

Hyouka is set in an ordinary Japanese high school where the mundane and the mysterious quietly coexist. Houtarou Oreki lives by a simple creed: conserve energy at all costs. The last thing this self-proclaimed lazy student wants is unnecessary involvement in anything that disrupts his carefully maintained low-effort lifestyle. That all changes when his older sister, Tomoe Oreki, insists he join the nearly defunct Classic Literature Club to keep it alive. Upon stepping into the club room, Oreki finds himself in the company of three very different personalities—the infectiously inquisitive Eru Chitanda, whose curiosity knows no bounds once sparked; the encyclopedic Satoshi Fukube; and the straightforward yet warm-hearted Mayaka Ibara. What begins as a reluctant club membership soon draws Oreki into something far more engaging than he ever anticipated, as the club room itself seems to hold questions that have gone unanswered for decades.
