Karl

In the world of "Bungo Stray Dogs", Carl is a five-year-old ordinary raccoon without any supernatural abilities, yet he serves as Edgar Allan Poe's indispensable emotional support. Carl is usually seen resting on his owner's shoulder or head. His lively, curious, and playful nature strongly contrasts with Poe's socially anxious and introverted personality. Despite being a wild animal, Carl is extremely affectionate and loyal to his master, often showing his mischievous side by playfully biting Poe's head. He is easily startled by loud noises and dislikes large crowds, but he is also capable of helping out in critical moments—such as retrieving Poe's mystery novel during the Cannibalism arc—bringing a lighthearted and endearing charm to the series' intense storylines.
