Machida serves as the manager of "Every Mart," known for his ever-present smile and warm demeanor, though he tends to be indecisive when it comes to running the store. A veteran fishing enthusiast, he originally hired the protagonist Tsunehiro so that someone could look after the shop while he went out fishing. Although the strong-willed staff members often leave him at his wit's end, he remains a caring and deeply humane senior figure to those under his charge.
