Originally conceived as an exclusive character in the game adaptation under the name Orimori Kuria, MARIA made her formal debut as the management AI of the aerial warship in the fourth season of the anime. Appearing in the form of a young girl dressed in a nun's habit, she carries out tactical support duties and monitors affection levels toward the Spirits, assisting Shido Itsuka throughout his missions. While her conduct is grounded in data-driven logic and composed composure, she simultaneously displays a sharp-tongued wit and a fondness for teasing Shido, revealing a surprisingly humanlike emotional depth even amid serious operations.
