Nelliel Tu Oderschvank once held the rank of the Third Espada within the Arrancar army, yet she was betrayed by her own allies, leaving her mask shattered. As a result, she regressed into the form of a small child and lost all memory of her former self. In the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, driven by the need to protect her companions from the threat posed by the Quincy, she returned to battle and, with Kisuke Urahara's assistance, managed to sustain her adult form.
