Orochi

Orochi is the spirit of the giant serpent monster once known as "Yamatagimadara," a fearsome mountain deity who ruled the local mountains in the past. After being defeated and decapitated by exorcists, his head was sealed in the western mountains while his torso was sealed in the eastern mountains. In the modern era, his attempts at revival are plagued by exceptionally poor luck, leaving him severely weakened and often stuck in comical, unfortunate situations. Despite his tragic and terrifying origins, he serves as an intelligent and cynical observer in the story, utilizing his vast knowledge of supernatural phenomena to analyze incidents and sometimes solve ghostly crises. Although he tries to maintain his pride as a former calamity god, in the peaceful Reiwa era, he often finds himself helpless against the eccentric humans and spirits around him, taking on a somewhat pitiful yet highly entertaining role.
