Plum

Plum is a girl who lives in 'Tetsujin's Town,' a settlement where only children remain after all the adults have left to work in Ikihama in order to earn the costly medicine fees. She leads the group of children in defending against the recurring attacks of 'Flying Puffer Fish' across the wilderness, and when the traveler Milo arrives, she guides her to treat the ailing children. Through this medical visit, the truth is uncovered: the illness the children suffer from is not Rust Disease, but rather 'Shell Skin Disease.' Plum is a resolute and tender-hearted girl who dedicates herself to protecting those in her care.
