Satowa Houzuki

Born into the prestigious Houzuki koto lineage, Satowa displayed extraordinary musical talent from an early age. Her path took a dramatic turn when she performed an original composition infused with personal emotion during a ranking examination—an act deemed a betrayal of her family's rigid traditions, leading to her expulsion by her own mother. Arriving at Toise High School carrying that wound, she initially kept others at arm's length with an icy demeanor and cutting remarks. Yet through the genuine warmth of Chika Kudou and her fellow club members, she slowly began to open up. Guiding the ensemble with her exceptional skill, she drives the group toward the national competition while rediscovering the true joy of playing the koto.
