Shiori Oumi

Shiori Oumi is a mermaid yokai whose eyes shimmer with the deep blue of the ocean. She arrives in the life of the protagonist Hinako under the guise of a transfer student. The two forge an unusual pact: Shiori vows to shield the death-seeking Hinako from all other yokai until Hinako's life ripens to its most "delectable" peak—at which point Shiori intends to devour her herself. Though she attributes her actions purely to appetite, the depth and complexity of her devotion throughout each act of protection suggests something far more profound than mere hunger.
