Winter Anime Season Ranking: Essential Recommendations for Catch-up
I've organized my progress and personal thoughts on this season's winter anime for those looking to catch up.
Weekly Progress:
"The Dangers in My Heart Season 2"
Currently my number one pick for the winter season. Both the OP and ED are top-tier, and the timing of the background music is always spot on. This kind of delicate portrayal of adolescent romance is truly a joy to watch.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End"
A treasure of an anime, combining a relaxed style with a touching story. This one requires you to calm your mind and watch it slowly; many details and emotional setups are woven in quite subtly. It leaves you with many reflections on life and time after watching.
"Ragna Crimson"
The only anime I regret not starting sooner. The theme and style are very unique; the combination of dark fantasy and intense action is right up my alley. I plan to find time to binge-watch the rest.
Winter Anime Popularity Poll (Approval Rating):
1. The Dangers in My Heart Season 2 - 12.80%
2. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End - 7.68%
3. Ragna Crimson - 6.56%
4. The Apothecary Diaries - 6.16%
5. Solo Leveling - 5.27%
6. Classroom of the Elite Season 3 - 4.14%
7. Mashle: Magic and Muscles - 4.05%
8. 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to a Worst Enemy - 3.18%
9. A Sign of Affection - 2.83%
10. Delicious in Dungeon - 2.67%
Personal Thoughts:
"The Dangers in My Heart" deserves the top spot; pure romance anime like this are becoming increasingly rare. "Frieren" represents another kind of excellence—slow-paced but never boring, with something to take away from every episode.
I was a bit surprised that "Solo Leveling" only ranked fifth; as a battle anime adapted from a Korean webtoon, it's actually quite satisfying. Also, I feel that "Delicious in Dungeon," with its food plus dungeon exploration combo, is underrated.
Which shows are you all following this season? Any recommendations or ones to avoid?
