Thinking of starting an anime YouTube channel, any equipment or advice?

I've always wanted to start a YouTube channel to share my thoughts on anime, but I don't know where to begin. What I currently have: - MacBook Pro (for editing) - iPhone 15 (for filming?) - An anime-themed room that can serve as a background I'd like to ask: 1. Do I need to buy a professional microphone? Any recommendations? 2. Is it better to use Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro for editing? 3. What software should I use to create covers and thumbnails? 4. How long should a video ideally be? 5. Channel positioning: Review-based, news-based, or unboxing-based? Are there any brothers already doing anime YouTube content who can share their experience? What are the most common pitfalls for beginners?

As an anime blogger, my advice is: finding your unique angle is the most important thing. There are many anime YouTubers out there now, but not many have their own style. Are you the analytical type, the comedic type, or the informational type? Find your niche before you start.

The easiest trap to fall into: striving for perfection from the very beginning. Your first video doesn't need to be perfect; the priority is to get it out there. You'll find that after making 10 videos, your pace of improvement will be very fast. Don't wait until you're "ready" to start.

Sharing my 5 years of experience running an anime YouTube channel:
1. The microphone is the most important! I recommend the Blue Yeti or Rode NT-USB.
2. Final Cut Pro is sufficient; there's no need for Premiere.
3. Use Canva for thumbnails; there's no need to learn PS.
4. A video length of 8-15 minutes is ideal.
5. Channel positioning: Focus on one niche initially, then expand once you've made a name for yourself.
