At what age can kids start watching anime? Want to binge-watch with my child

My son is 5 this year and has started getting interested in the "cartoons" on TV. As an anime-fan dad, I'd love to binge-watch shows with him! But I'm not sure what age is appropriate. Factors to consider: - Level of violence/gore - Plot complexity - Episode length (kids have limited attention spans) - Positive values Shows I've thought of so far: - My Neighbor Totoro — Should be no problem - Pokémon — A classic starter - Sumikko Gurashi — He really likes this Any other recommendations? Especially ones we can watch together that aren't so childish that adults can't stand them?

I watch "SPY×FAMILY" with my son, and he absolutely loves Anya😂 Both adults and kids enjoy this show; it's funny and heartwarming. Just keep in mind that there are some action scenes to watch out for.

I recommend Future Boy Conan (an early work by Hayao Miyazaki)! It has elements of both adventure and friendship, and the pacing is suitable for children. It's also perfectly fine for adults to watch.

I'd like to recommend one more: the Crayon Shin-chan movies. The daily episodes might have some adult-oriented jokes, but the movies (especially The Adult Empire Strikes Back) are truly masterpieces suitable for all ages!

For a 5-year-old, "Pokémon" and "Sumikko Gurashi" are both very suitable! I also recommend adding "Ojamajo Doremi"; it has strong educational value while not being too childish. I learned a lot of life lessons from watching it when I was little.
