The April new anime "Yomi no Tsugai" gives people a sense of security that it "won't be bad"☺️
I haven't watched Fullmetal Alchemist (I only know the "big brother" meme...), so I don't know the author's art style and have no sense of déjà vu.
The story setting feels novel yet has that old-school sense of comfort, and the production quality is on point. The "Tsugai" system world-building feels quite unique; it's different from the typical twin settings in other works.
I personally love yokai culture, so it's really great to see it integrated! Was the villager in the first episode really slaughtered? Will that be explained later? The side character villagers seem pretty miserable.
IGN gave it a high score of 8, calling it a "must-watch successor to Fullmetal Alchemist," affirming its narrative efficiency and the sharp, shocking action scenes.
The protagonist Yuru feels like a man of few words who doesn't act foolishly. Even though he is confused and shocked by the sudden appearance of his "real" sister, he is willing to calm down and not make hasty decisions, giving himself time to think. It's great!
I will keep following it!
