SEGA Announces New Cosmic Series Hatsune Miku Prize Figure, Faithfully Recreating Fuku Kitsune's Original Art
The latest news from SEGA is out! The FIGURIZMα series, scheduled for release in the fall of 2026, has surprisingly chosen an illustration by the renowned artist Fuku Kitsune as its prototype. Long-time collectors should be familiar with the FIGURIZMα line; it's an advanced series SEGA launched in recent years to break the stereotype that "prize figures are cheap," specifically optimized for detail and proportion. Compared to standard prize figures, FIGURIZMα usually shows more effort in the tension of the poses and the design of the bases.
Fuku Kitsune's art style is known for its dreamy layering and rich color details, and this Cosmic theme perfectly blends Miku's twin tails with celestial elements. The flowing, gradient twin tails, paired with a mysterious purple stardust cape and those semi-transparent puffy sleeves, create truly stunning visual tension. This kind of highly dynamic design is a huge challenge for prize figure mold development, especially regarding the semi-transparent parts on the clothing edges and the texture of the gold ornaments. If they can perfectly recreate these, this figure will definitely be the gold standard for prize figures in 2026.
Personally, I feel that SEGA's strategy in the prize figure market has become very aggressive in recent years. From the previous Luminasta line to the current FIGURIZMα, you can clearly feel them trying to attract collectors in a competitive market by using more artistic original illustrations. This Cosmic version isn't just a simple costume swap; the overall composition feels more like a work of art. Although the release date is set for 2026 and feels quite far away, this "slow and steady" pace makes me even more excited for the final paint job of the actual product.
Do you all feel that the current product quality of the FIGURIZMα series meets your standards?
