A collection of cancelled manga gems—which one is the biggest pity?

Every time I think about works cancelled by JUMP, my heart aches. Some had so much potential but were axed just because they weren't popular enough.

The ones I find most regrettable:
- Ayashimon—Yokai × Yakuza, the premise was super interesting but the pacing was too slow.
- Build King—Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's new work, I was really looking forward to it.
- Mission: Yozakura Family—Actually it was okay, but it just lacked popularity.

Which cancelled series do you find the most regrettable? Are there any hidden gems that you feel would have become great if they had just been given a few more chapters?

The most painful one is "Time Paradox Ghostwriter" — the premise was super creative, but it was axed after only 14 chapters.

4-koma manga are rarely cancelled... because they aren't the main battlefield for JUMP to begin with. However, 4-koma in other magazines face similar issues.

It's such a pity about 《Ayashimon》! Yuji Kaku's art style and world-building were very unique; it was just a pacing issue. If he had been given ten more chapters, it would have been a different story.

I suggest everyone show more support for the first volume of new series! If sales are good, the chances of them being axed are much lower. Reader support is truly very important.

If there is a digital version available, I recommend purchasing it; this is the most direct and effective way to support new works.

Actually, JUMP's cancellation system does, to a certain extent, guarantee the overall quality of its serialized works. Although cruel, it is effective.

It's a real shame about 《Phantom Seer》. The ability system was super interesting, but the timing of its serialization was terrible; it ran right alongside many other hit series.

Some cancelled works actually see their first volume tankobon increase in value. From a collector's perspective, they have a different kind of value.

In the history of JUMP, there have been many gems that were cancelled prematurely. Even in the 80s, there were quite a few works with potential that got the axe. The elimination system has been around for a long time.

Many cancelled works have been revived in other magazines later on, such as Mairimashita! Iruma-kun. So, there's no need to give up hope entirely.

The situation for Hong Kong comics is even more dire... it's not just about being cancelled, but entire publishing houses going out of business. Many promising Hong Kong comics will never see an ending.
