Mom 'cleaned' my room and threw away my manga... a heartbreaking story

Bad news... While I was away on a business trip for a few days, my mom 'cleaned' my room and threw away all the manga I've been collecting for over a decade like it was trash😭 The items thrown away include: - The complete 31-volume first edition of SLAM DUNK - The Rurouni Kenshin Kanzenban edition - The complete YuYu Hakusho series - Plus dozens of other manga Altogether, it must have been over a hundred books... some of them are even out of print. When I talked to my mom, she didn't understand at all, saying, 'If it's not trash, then what is it?' I know she meant well, but it really breaks my heart. Has anyone else had a similar experience? How do you guys usually store your collections to prevent these kinds of tragedies?

RIP... The complete edition of "Rurouni Kenshin" is out of print too... It's really impossible to buy it back. Your mom owes you a huge amount of compensation for emotional distress😭

Heartbroken to the core... It's already very hard to find a complete set of the first edition of SLAM DUNK nowadays. I know several collectors who have been searching for a complete first edition set for many years. I suggest that in the future, you put your manga in a box and lock it, or rent a mini-storage unit.

I recommend buying some transparent storage bins to organize them; they also help protect against dust and moisture. I put all my manga in acid-free bags before placing them in the bins. This is a lesson learned—you must protect your collection well.

My mom almost threw away my manga too! Luckily, I discovered it in time. Afterward, I immediately stuck a note on the bookshelf that said, "Precious collection, please do not touch." Even though she thought I was being silly, at least it kept them safe.
