Blue Miburo is a historical action anime series blending shounen spirit with crime and period drama, based on the manga by Yasuda Takeshi. Set against the turbulent backdrop of 1863 Japan, Blue Miburo unfolds during the final years of the shogunate—an era when the streets of Kyoto ran red with conflict between wandering ronin and government samurai. Amid this upheaval, a young orphan named Nio Chirinu carries within him an unshakeable desire for justice and a dream of building a better world, despite having grown up with little to call his own. His life takes a defining turn when fate brings him face to face with Toshizo Hijikata and Souji Okita, two key founding figures of a notorious group of ronin called the Miburo—a band that would eventually rise to fame as the Shinsengumi. Moved by the conviction these so-called "Blue Wolves of Mibu" embody, Nio resolves to stand alongside them in pursuit of the future he believes in. Yet in a world where loyalty is tested and allegiances shift without warning, the question remains: can Nio hold fast to his own sense of right and wrong?
