Tarou Tanaka

Tarou Tanaka is an original character who once lived at the very bottom of society as an orphan stripped of all dignity, before being taken in by Serizawa Kamo and joining the Mibu Rōshigumi. The hardships of his wretched years in servitude left him deeply fearful and self-effacing at the outset. Yet through his bonds with companions such as Nio and their shared training, he gradually builds confidence and reveals a resilient capacity for growth. Amid the brutal upheaval of the Bakumatsu era, he continually searches for a reason to survive, making him a supporting character of genuine human depth.
