Introduction / Synopsis
Summary
Clockwork Planet is a TV anime produced by Xebec and directed by Takeshi Nagasawa, based on the light novel series by Yuu Kamiya. Set on a world entirely rebuilt from gears and clockwork machinery, the story follows Naoto Miura, a gear-obsessed boy whose life changes when the automaton RyuZU falls from the sky into his room. Joined by the brilliant Marie Bell Breguet and her partner Vainney Halter, they unravel a conspiracy threatening the planet itself. Blending Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Romance, Drama, and Ecchi elements with series composition by Tōichirō Aoshima, this is a bold adaptation for fans of intricate world-building and dynamic characters.
Plot
The world of Clockwork Planet is one where humanity has pushed the exploitation of the earth to its absolute limits—so much so that the entire surface has been replaced by an intricate, planet-spanning network of gears and clockwork machinery. Naoto Miura is a high school dropout with no formal credentials to speak of, yet he possesses an almost supernatural sensitivity to mechanical sounds and an extraordinary gift for tinkering. Living a quiet, unremarkable life amid the endless hum of gears, everything shifts when a massive crate suddenly crashes through his ceiling. Inside lies RyuZU, a mysterious female automaton unlike anything the world has seen. Her unexpected arrival sets into motion a series of events far beyond anything Naoto could have imagined—and perhaps the beginning of his chance to prove his worth to a world that has overlooked him.
