The central protagonist of the first arc, Jinka Yamato is a human who holds an extreme contempt for his own kind. Traveling alongside his elder sister figure, the fox spirit Kotama, the two are known throughout the land as the 'Yonaoshi Siblings.' Through the esoteric technique called 'Spirit Transformation,' he draws upon the power of the fox spirit in battle. His ultimate ambition is to shed his human form and become one with the 'darkness,' a goal he pursues while protecting his companions and clashing with the Dangai forces.
