Mika Hanaoka

Mika Hanaoka is the mother of the story's protagonist, Makoto Hanaoka. Having grown up with a father who engaged in cross-dressing, she carries deep psychological wounds that have left her intensely opposed to any form of femininity. She places strong expectations on Makoto to embody a traditionally masculine image, all while remaining completely unaware that Makoto wears feminine clothing at school. Her imposed gender expectations and entrenched conservative values serve as the greatest source of psychological pressure Makoto faces while navigating questions of self-identity.
