How to distinguish between authentic and bootleg figures? Got scammed last time
Sharing a painful experience... Last month, I bought an "authentic" figure on a certain platform, but after receiving it, I wondered why the quality was so poor. After having it appraised, I found out it was a bootleg (pirated) version 🤦
The characteristics were:
- Blurry packaging print
- Obvious flaws in the paint job
- Burrs/rough edges at the joints
- No authentic certification sticker
Over $400 gone just like that. I want to ask everyone, what methods do you usually use to distinguish between authentic and bootleg figures? Are there any trustworthy purchasing channels you can recommend? I don't want to get scammed again 😭
