Always getting told 'you're so old and still watching cartoons,' how do you guys deal with it?

It's this old question again... but I get so angry every time I hear it. I had dinner with some relatives last week, and when they saw my phone wallpaper was an anime character, they started in: "You're so old and still watching cartoons," "When are you going to grow up?," "Have you found a girlfriend yet?" (What does this have to do with watching anime???). I'm 30 years old, have a full-time job, can afford my rent, and can afford to eat. But in some people's eyes, watching anime equals being immature. How do you guys deal with it? A) Explain that anime is not the same as cartoons B) Ignore them and just be yourself C) Retaliate: "Isn't you watching K-dramas the same thing?" D) Directly change the subject Or is there a better way?

What's most annoying is, what does "have you found a girlfriend yet" have to do with watching anime?? I know many anime fans who have families. This kind of prejudice is really outdated.

I tried C😂 "Aren't you doing the same thing when you watch K-dramas?" The other person shut up immediately. But afterwards, I felt this approach wasn't great; it turned into attacking each other. Now, I choose B.

30 years old, have a job, have my own life... why do I still have to be judged? I choose B—just be myself. Spending time explaining to people who don't understand will only make you angrier.

I would choose E—share a good piece of work with them directly. Sometimes prejudice stems from a lack of understanding. I previously recommended SPY×FAMILY to my aunt, and now she follows it even more diligently than I do.
