When did collecting anime merchandise become a burden?

I suddenly realized... I have no space left in my house for figures, my manga is stacked up to the ceiling, and I have a pile of unopened model kits. I spend more money on merchandise every month than I do on food.<br><br>It's not that I don't like them anymore, but I'm starting to feel tied down by my "collection." Yet, every time I want to declutter, I can't bring myself to do it. Has anyone successfully managed to control their urge to collect? Or do you guys think this isn't a problem at all?
