Anime Dubbing: Japanese Original Audio vs. Local Dubbing? What are your habits?

I've always wanted to ask this question: when you watch anime, do you prefer the original Japanese audio with subtitles, or local dubbing?

Personally, I'm used to the original Japanese audio because I feel the Japanese voice actors' acting is excellent and their emotional expression is more on point. But I recently tried a few English dubs and found the quality wasn't bad at all.

Also, did anyone grow up watching anime with Cantonese dubs? The Cantonese dubbing from TVB and ATV back in the day really had a special charm. What is everyone's preference?

I grew up watching TVB Cantonese dubs. The Cantonese dubbing back then was truly distinctive; I still remember Kwong Shu-pui's voice for Goku even now.

Watching anime late at night definitely requires the original Japanese audio! Subtitles make you focus more on the visuals, whereas dubbing actually distracts you.

Japanese audio + Traditional Chinese subtitles is my standard setup. However, the English dubs for some works are also very well done, such as Cowboy Bebop.
