Plot

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4 continues the beloved dark fantasy saga of an ordinary young man thrust into an extraordinary world. Subaru Natsuki possesses a mysterious and burdensome power that has carried him through countless life-or-death situations across his time in this magical realm. In this new chapter, the stakes are higher than ever — with his cherished companions suffering and in desperate need of help, Subaru sets out on a grueling new journey across a treacherous, unforgiving desert. His destination is the legendary Pleiades Watchtower, a remote stronghold said to be home to a figure known as the Sage. Far from familiar faces and the safety of known lands, Subaru must brave the vast and deadly wilderness alone, driven only by his determination to protect those he holds dear.

However, just as they heard in the town of Milula that "no one has reached the watchtower for four hundred years," the distance to the tower inexplicably remains unchanged, even as they use Meili's Divine Protection to ward off mabeasts and endure the sandstorms of "Sand Time." Against the mechanism of the dunes that even hindered Reinhard, Ram uses her "Clairvoyance" to seek a breakthrough.

While he manages to reunite with Scarf-Dona and Patrasche, he is separated from Emilia, Rem, Beatrice, and the others. Although he can confirm Rem's safety through the twins' synesthesia, no exit is found nearby. To reunite with everyone, Subaru and his group begin to move through the underground passage, where there is no wind, the temperature is low, and only the sound of footsteps on sand echoes.
