"Pokémon: Become a Pokémon Master" is now available on Netflix
This mini-series differs from the previous main series, Pokémon Journeys, in two major ways.
First of all, the mini-series only has 12 episodes.
Secondly, the mini-series focuses on showing Ash Ketchum in his "final adventure". In the context of the real world, Ash has been trying to become a "Pokémon Master" for 25 years, and the series will try to answer what that means for Ash and how he begins the next part of his journey. , whatever that will be.
These episodes have already aired in Japan (as Pokémon: Become a Pokémon Master), so viewers who don't want to be spoiled should be careful when looking for information about the mini-series.
When the "final episode" was announced, fans were eager to see the return of popular characters and Pokémon. Not only will Ash Ketchum reconnect with the various Pokémon he has captured over the past few generations, but OG friends and travel companions Xiaogang and Misty will join him on one last adventure. While this series marks the end of Ash's "main adventures," The Pokémon Company has made it clear that Ash may return in the future. They decided that after he successfully defeated Leo to become world champion in the previous series, it was time to take things to the next chapter and introduce a new character.
The series is currently airing in Japan under the title Pokémon Horizons. The show focuses on two new protagonists, Rico and Roy, who have a unique connection to the Pokémon world. Rico gets a mysterious trinket from his family, and some people want it. And Roy has a rare Poke Ball that has never been seen before. Together with new allies, they will find their place in the Pokémon world and have unique adventures. The show has been praised for its visuals and different feel from series featuring Ash Ketchum.
Additionally, The Pokémon Company is creating other series in other anime worlds and in the real world. They recently released the first episode of Pokémon: Winds of Paldia and announced a live-action TV series for Japanese television.
The synopsis for "Pokémon: Become a Pokémon Master" is: "Ash, Pikachu, and their two friends Misty and Xiaogang travel around the world to help Pokémon in need--and all the time they are blocked by Sky. The guardian is watching."
