The quality of the April anime season is just too high! Must-watch anime list for Spring 2026
The April spring anime season is back! The quality of the new shows this time is truly incredible. I haven't even recovered from Otherside Picnic (Hekai Nikki) yet, and there are already so many must-watch titles!
1. Dorohedoro Season 2 (April 1st)
Five-star recommendation! It looks like a brutal art style, but the core is actually super heartwarming. Nikaido is my favorite female supporting character of the last decade.
2. Kirio Fan Club (April 3rd)
Three-star recommendation, a school romantic comedy aimed at a female audience.
3. Yomi no Tsugai (April 4th)
Three-star recommendation, the new work from Arakawa-sensei (the author of Fullmetal Alchemist)!
4. Akane-banashi (April 4th)
Four-star recommendation, different from Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, this is a passionate story about rakugo.
5. Needy Streamer Overload (April 5th)
Three-star recommendation, game adaptation; the highlight is the psychological state of the 'menhera' girl.
6. Nihon Sangokushi (April 5th)
Four-star recommendation, the setting is the main draw; fans of the Three Kingdoms will enjoy the spectacle.
7. Witch Hat Atelier (April 6th)
Four-star recommendation, the art style is amazing; it has been recommended on Kono Manga ga Sugoi! several times.
8. Liar Game (April 7th)
Four-star recommendation, the pinnacle of psychological battle manga.
9. Hyakki Yakou Shou (April 7th)
Three-star recommendation, a classic old-school manga with a plot similar to Natsume's Book of Friends.
10. Awashima Hyakkei (April 9th)
Five-star recommendation! A work by Takako Shimura-sensei, a school drama similar to Takarazuka; Yuri is the best!
