Japan's New Anti-Piracy Law Targets Fansub Groups—What Do You Think?
Japan has amended its copyright law to strengthen the crackdown on overseas fansub groups. Several well-known fansub groups have already announced that they are suspending their activities.<br><br>As someone who has been doing subtitle translation for five years, my feelings are very complicated:<br><br>Rationally: Copyright protection is correct.<br>Emotionally: Many works simply don't have official Chinese subtitles.<br><br>The problem is: If fansub groups disappear, but the official side doesn't provide sufficient localization services, the audience will ultimately be the ones who suffer.<br><br>What do you all think?
