It's actually more convenient to go from Yuen Long to Taipei than to Admiralty😂 The atmosphere at the anime convention in Taipei is indeed much better.

I suggest adding an extra day to Hida-Takayama! The hot springs and Wagyu beef there are amazing; don't just rush off after visiting the pilgrimage site. The Takayama Old Town is also worth a stroll.
