I think giving an art book/setting collection is a good idea. "Jujutsu Kaisen" has an official art book out, and the quality is excellent. Just make sure to check that they haven't bought it already.
I've bought the entire set of OP manga from the first volume until now, and my bookshelf is already full. But I can't bear to throw any of them away; each volume holds memories.

I bought the physical copy but haven't read it yet, so I should probably switch to the digital version... at least the digital version won't take up space, and I can read it at my own pace.
My approach is: read the manga first for the plot, then watch the anime to experience the direction. The two complement each other for the best experience.
